About Tender Transitions

Helping Seniors take that next step in life
The Pettigrews truly enjoy working with seniors and the community. Helping elderly people just comes naturally to them! Since 1989 the Pettigrews have served as Co-Executive Directors for the Brush-Up-Nebraska Paint-A-Thon, a non-profit organization that serves the needs of seniors and low-income people in the Omaha and Lincoln metro areas.
Since the passing of Tom late in 2019, Brent made a decision to step away from the automotive service department after 25 years and come work with his mother Sheila to keep Tender Transitions helping the senior community in Omaha. Brent has also been involved with his parents throughout his life with their non-profit Brush-Up-Nebraska. Respect and compassion for the elderly has been passed down from Tom & Sheila to their son Brent.
Our staff is made up of many caring individuals that share the same respectful, reliable, and honest attitude of people that love helping others. They bring a variety of experiences and talents to Tender Transitions.
Tender Transitions was founded in 1997, by Tom & Sheila Pettigrew. Through the years of helping family, close friends and acquaintances into new life situations, they have developed knowledge and experience in working with various seniors’ needs and concerns. In 1996 it became clear that there was a need for an all-inclusive relocation service in Omaha, which would help seniors’ making a move to new life situations. Tender Transitions is a member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers, and is an A+ member of the Better Business Bureau.
